So I'm reading an online serial, which back in my day those were mostly composed of fan fiction with the odd original piece floating around in there. Like Erica Friedman’s work for the Yuricon mascot's story. Do not misunderstand me; Erica Friedman is still one of my least favorite human beings. She is really pretentious and I will also add in a cruder fashion that she is an asshat. Nevertheless, I did not come here to blog about her; I wanted to talk about Eikaisia. The concept is wonderful the story is wonderful, but the writing...Jesus I have horrible grammar and I keep wanting to grab out a highlighter and I rearrange paragraphs and sentences in my head. It is MADDENING. A good story, no an excellent story marred only by and authors lack of grammatical understanding. Not her (or his) fault it is a great story this is the kind of thing an editor goes over an author with. In addition, using the internet as a venue does get the story out, but damn it to hell there needs to be a roving editorial group who reads this sort of thing and HELPS net authors so we can push the stories in the web ether up a notch.
However, the good thing to come out of this gnashing of my metaphoric grammatical teeth is that it encourages me to push my writing a bit farther. Eternity Dreams is not my only story. Two more based on fairy tales lurk in the back of my head, another set in the original alt universe my friends and me hashed out years ago as a comic idea. There are actually a lot more than what is mentioned but those three are the closest to being completed so when Eternity Dreams does finish they will most likely be my next project. Well I have chatted enough in this one post, and I have to finish touching up this week’s issue of Eternity Dreams. I missed last week’s update simply because I had too much schoolwork + job work to put out a really good page. At least it helped me get a jump on next week’s update, which I will hopefully have done this weekend so I can post it for Tuesday November 2. Anyway night all who read my unfortunate blog. Tweet
